•Click Trans on the Toolbar and select Purchase.

•In the Activity Panel will be the data entry screen for the purchase activity. Enter the details in their respective fields. If in the Properties dropdown list the property is not available, then you will need to set the property up first. Unit price can be per head or per kg. Or you can enter a total value of the purchase.

•The grid at the bottom will display a row for every animal you are purchasing. Enter the details you have for each animal. There are two columns called Class and Paddock. Click in the top cell for each and you will be presented with a dropdown list. Select the respective Class and Paddock and the details will auto-fill in the grid.

•Click Trans on the Toolbar and select Purchase.

•In the Activity Panel will be the data entry screen for the Purchase activity. Enter the Date, select Property From and To fields. If in the Properties dropdown list, the property is not available, then you will need to set the property up first. Refer to Property Setup for further information.

•Browse to the file containing the purchased animals details and click Open. The file will need to be in a .csv or .txt file format. If the file is not visible, check the File of Types select at the bottom of the window.

•The next window is the File Import window. The contents of the file are displayed at the bottom. As there are a multitude of file formats, you will need to map the columns in relation to their contents. The RFID and NLISID columns by default should already be mapped. If the file contains headers or other sundry information at the top, you can select the number of lines to ignore at the top and bottom of the file. Type the number of lines into the respective Ignore fields.

•In the Column Mapping section there is a list of columns. Click in the adjacent cell to be presented with a dropdown list of headings. Select the heading that defines the content of that column. Repeat for each column that is relevant, not all columns have to be mapped.

•When finished, click OK.

•Fill in any other information required and click Save.

The Purchase activity will now be recorded against each animal. The individual’s weight and price will also be recorded in the activity information if entered.
