Phoenix - User Help

Once the GST Rate and % Claimable is set up against each category in Category Set-up, Phoenix will know for each transaction what the GST rate is and the percent claimable.  For everyday transactions the user will not have to enter in any GST details as Phoenix will locate the rates from the category set up and automatically apply the GST.

When viewing the GST Return screen, you can change the order in which the transactions are listed by clicking a column heading. For example, Phoenix sorts them by the “Tr #” (transactions number) column so that the entries are shown in the order in which you entered them.

The GST Rate and % Claimable will automatically be populated according to what was set in Category set up.  If a transaction occurs that the normal GST Rate no longer applies the rate and % Claimable can be changed when entering the transaction without changing the rate and % Claimable in category set up and therefore the default rate for future transactions.

When viewing the GST Return screen, you can search for a particular entry by just typing a few characters. For example, type SMI to search for “Smith” or type 125 to search for $125. You’ll notice that search characters you enter are shown on the Function Bar of the screen (the bar with the New and Edit buttons on it). The search characters are automatically cleared when you press either the up or down arrow key. The last search character entered can be deleted by pressing the Backspace key.
