Phoenix Livestock separates livestock into Types. Typically these will be Cattle, Sheep, etc or can be more specific such as Trade Cattle, Breeding Cattle, etc. How you choose to categorise your livestock is entirely up to you. These livestock types will then be broken into Classes.
With an active Livestock subscription animals can be itemised by 'Animal Type'. Colours and patterns can be assigned to each animal type to allow quick identification at a glance. These Animal Types are used on the Grazing Chart making it simpler to read. •From within the Livestock module, click Setup on the drop-down menu and select Animal Types. •To create a new Animal Type, click on •Enter a Name for the Animal Type, 'Cattle' for example as per above •Any selected animal type in the left hand panel will have its details displayed in the panel on the right •Click the Colour button, select a colour to represent this animal type and click OK •Click in the Pattern drop-down field and select a pattern style •The Notes field can be used to record any additional detail, which can make it easier to discern between your Animal Type distinctions when you look back on them in the future •When finished, click Save •Status can be set to 'Active' or 'Inactive'. This status will toggle whether the animal type appears for selection in the Animal Type List •Repeat these steps for as many Animal Types as are required NB: Existing and newly created Animal Types will automatically be assigned default colours which can be edited. |
