While statutory reporting emphasises the necessity of recording the number of head that are purchased or sold, farm profitability often hinges on monitoring livestock weights, as payments are typically based on kilograms rather than head count.
The Livestock Quantities Report displays the number of head traded and, if recorded, the corresponding kilograms for Liveweight or Dressed weight. Utilising a predetermined dressing percentage, the report further calculates the effective weight had all livestock been traded in Liveweight or Dressed form.
To achieve this, when entering transactions with a link to the Livestock Account, the Quantity (Qty) in the Enter Transaction screen is more detailed. Entering the total weight is optional, but if you choose to use it for the purpose of this report, you will need to specify whether the weight being recorded is Liveweight or Dressed Weight.
