IMPORTANT:  Extreme caution must be used when choosing and deleting a set of books in Windows Explorer.  If the wrong set of books is chosen and deleted it is a difficult and sometimes impossible process to successfully reverse and restore the data set.  The information in this help note is provided as a service to our clients – we do not take responsibility for client’s use of Windows products or for any loss or damage.

There are occasions when an unwanted set of books needs to be deleted – perhaps a test restore set of books that are no longer required.  To delete a Set of Books:

1.Close out of Phoenix.

2.Open Computer or This PC (depending on your version of Windows).  There will usually be an icon on your desktop or it can be found by click on your Start button.

3.Find your C: drive and double click on it.  You should now see a list of folders.

4.Locate and open the PxData folder and double click on it.

5.The list of folders under PxData will look familiar as these are the names of the Sets of Books that you see in the Select Set of Books window when opening Phoenix.

6.Click once only on the set of books you need to delete and hit the Delete key on your keyboard.  Only delete folder that you know what they are.

7.This set of books will longer show in the Select Set of Books window in Phoenix.

Note:
The instructions above assume that you have left the Phoenix options as defaults when it was installed. If you chose a different location for the data directory, then you can open that folder and proceed from Step 5.
