Phoenix 9 - User Help

The Open Project window is the first window you will see when launching Phoenix Mapping. The buttons in this window are;

map_create new project button_v8 Create a new project

map_open project button_v8 Open the selected project

Map_enlarge preview button_v8 Enlarge the preview of the select project

map_delete selected project button_v8 Delete the selected project

map_close button_v8 Close the Open Project window

The Toolbar in the main mapping window is designed to give the user quick and easy access to the most commonly used commands.  The following is a brief outline of the functions of each button on the Toolbar and Office Screens.

btn_new_v8     Create a new project

Btn_save_v8     Save changes to current project

map_layer wizard button_v8     Layer wizard – create a new layer

map_view program options button_v8     View/Edit Program Options

map_select object button_v8     Select Mode. Click on the arrow to enable the point and click selection mode to view an object's details or preselecting for activities such as editing. Click on the down arrow to be presented with other selection mode options.

map_deselect button_v8     Deselect or currently selected objects

image020_v8     Drawing Mode. Used for drawing new shapes, points and lines. When selected, a secondary drawing menu will appear.

image022_v8     Editing Mode. This allows you to edit any existing drawing on the map. When selected, a secondary drawing menu will appear.

   

Secondary drawing toolbar buttons:

image024_v8     Draw polygons (when on polygon layer)

image026_v8     Draw circles (when on a polygon layer)      

map_plot points button_v8        Plot points by entering coordinates, angles, bearings and distances

image028_v8      Undo last modification

image030_v8      Re-do the last undo

image034_v8      Delete object

image032_v8      Revert object to original shape

map_stop draw button_v8     Stop the drawing function

map_create buffers button_v8        Create buffers for selected objects

map_copy objects button_v8        Copy the selected objects to another layer

image007_2_v8        Split selected polygon

image009_2_v8        Merge selected objects

map_move button_v8     Move Labels or click the down arrow to select Move Objects    

map_measure button_v8      Measure tool. Click the down arrow to select to measure straight lines of single or multiple segments or polygons (areas)

image043_v8     Drag map. Allows you to use a dragging motion to pan across the map in any direction.

image045_v8     Zoom to chosen dimension. Allows you to define the area on the map to make full screen.

image049_v8      View active layer extent – make layer full screen

map_zoom object extent button_v8  View selected object extent - make selected object full screen

Layer Manager

map_integration views_v8 Integration view. Sets what information is displayed on the map

map_2D-3D toggle_v8 2D - 3D view toggle

 

Layers Tab:

map_layer properties button_v8      View/edit layer properties

       Change layer alignment – Allows you to modify the alignment of the selected layer in relation to other layers.

btn_delete_objects_v8     Delete all objects from the layer

btn_delete_v8     Delete layer

 

Object Data Tab:

btn_link_v8   Create/view/edit the linking of paddocks and sub-paddocks from your paddocks and sub-paddocks setup in Livestock and Cropping. This creates the pictorial integration between Mapping and the other modules.

map_attach notes button_v8    Attach notes and images to an object

map_line profile button_v8   View line profile graph. The button will only appear if a line object is selected and elevation data is present.
