Downloading From GPS

Plug in the cable from your GPS to your computer.

Switch the GPS on.

In Phoenix Mapping, select GPS from the pull down menu at the top of the screen and select Download From GPS. If it is a GPX enabled GPS then select Import GPX File and browse the GPS as if it were a USB memory stick.

NB:  A GPX File can contain Waypoints, Routes or Tracks and is a simple method for transferring GPS data without having the GPS unit with you.  Only valid for GPX enabled GPS Units.

The download window will then appear. The download window has three tabs - Waypoints, Routes and Tracks. This information can then be plotted onto any layer in the project.
