To transfer to and from a later model Garmin, you will first need to install any drivers for the GPS (if using USB). If you are using a serial to USB converter cable then you will need to install drivers for this cable as well. Typically when you plug in the GPS for the first time it will display a message saying it has found new hardware. Follow the on-screen prompts to install/download the drivers. If you download the drivers you may then need to direct the device to where the drivers are downloaded on your system.
