Before the EFT payments can be made you must have registered with your bank for internet banking and received a user ID and password or have arranged for your banks electronic banking software to be installed on your computer. You then need to follow the steps in Getting Ready to make Payments Electronically.
There are two reasons that a transaction may not be included in the payment list:
1.The Reference Field may have something in it. Only an asterisk can be entered here or the Reference has to be blank. Something could be entered here but is not visible, i.e. pressing the space bar will enter an invisible character. You need to enter the Reference Field and press the delete key a few times to make sure the field is blank.
2.EFT Payment must be chosen as the transaction type.
There is also a manual way. Whenever an Payments file is created, a batch number is entered in the Reference field to identify that transaction has been included in a Payment. All that is required to re-do the payment file is to delete the reference number and save each transaction that is to be included in the new payment.
The EFT Payment function creates an ABA file. This file is then saved on your hard drive ready for you to import or the banks electronic banking system to read the file and complete the transactions. Phoenix saves this Payment file where the path has been set under the Setup button on the EFT Payment window. The file path and name is displayed under the EFT Payment Details, next to the Output File Name label and also in the Payment File field in the EFT Payments window. You can use the default location or set your own.
3.Select the account from which the payments were made using the Account menu.
4.Select all the Enterprises and Groups.
5.From the Search Menu, select New Search then enter in the Search field “Reference”, Op. field “=” then in the Search value enter the Reference number that was assigned to the batch in question e.g. BW.
